The Ask
Repucon Consulting were engaged to develop a Business Plan for the development of a new mountain bike trail centre at the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre, Co. Limerick. The Business Plan required a focus on strategic, operational, financial and marketing considerations for the development of a new trail centre designed to support the growth of site usage by all trail users (bike, walking).
The Approach
The project was undertaken in partnership with a range of professional service providers with Repucon taking responsibility for development of the final Business Plan, integrating the key outputs of the partners involved in the project. The Business Plan started with the development of a site usage model building up the wider business opportunities associated with projected future growth. The Business Plan reflected the site ambition by a range of stakeholders that included Failte Ireland, Coillte and Ballyhoura Heritage group.
The Outcome
The final Business Plan was delivered reflecting the future operational considerations for the site in addition to financial projections associated with the various options identified for the site. A comprehensive marketing plan was developed based on the creation of a new user segmentation model focused specifically on the walking and mountain biking audiences. In addition to the delivery of the Business Plan, a user experience plan was also developed to map the user visitor journey and the associated implications of the proposed on site experience.
