The Ask
Repucon Consulting were commissioned to undertake an evaluation of Women in Sport for Cycling Ireland. The project was to examine current practices in attracting increased levels of female participation, identification of the challenges in retaining female participation in sport and a review of global best practice.
The Approach
The project methodology combined a range of primary and secondary data collection and analysis. A wide range of stakeholders involved in female sport were consulted through a mix of focus groups, indepth interviews and stakeholder surveys. The project also combined an extensive review of international best practice among sports bodies, national sports federations and community activity, designed to increase and retain female participation in cycling.
The Outcome
Delivery of an evaluation report based the identification of key benchmarking criteria, international best practice applied to a range of case studies conducted among the various cohorts of female cyclists providing an evidence based evaluation of the Women in Sport initiative.
