Repucon Consulting were commissioned by Cycling Ireland to develop a new Five Year Strategy for the governing body for cycling on the island of Ireland. The strategy represents the second delivery of the Cycling Ireland strategy by the principals of Repucon Consulting, having also completed the 2015 -2019 Strategic Plan for Cycling Ireland.
The research methodology was based on ensuring all stakeholder groups were consulted with, ranging from each of the various cycling disciplines (eg road, off road, track, mountain bike etc.) to the wide range of key stakeholder groups from provincial committees, specific cycling commissions to the extended of Cycling Ireland. A total of 3,000 surveys were submitted through the Cycling Ireland membership for analysis. The consultation was also supplemented with a series of one on one interviews with a range of key stakeholders including Sport Ireland, Sport Northern Ireland, Institute of Irish Sport, Federation of Irish Sport, the Olympic Council of Ireland and the various government departments aligned with cycling development.
A new Five Year Strategic Plan was launched by Cycling Ireland in February 2020 with a new vision of Ireland – an island enriched through cycling guided by three key strategic development pillars.
