Tourism Master Planning

The Ask
The development of a Tourism Masterplan and Tourism Vision document for Portumna. The objective was to establish current and projected projects that would form part of a ten year Masterplan for Portumna in establishing it as a major outdoor and cultural heritage base within Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.
The Approach.
The Portumna Masterplanning and Vision 2030 document built upon existing projects in development and under consideration by a range of key stakeholders that included Failte Ireland, OPW, Galway Co. Council, Waterways Ireland, Inland Fisheries and Coillte. A consultative process was undertaken to establish priority projects and the linkages between the projects in developing Portumna as a destination envisaged by all key stakeholders and the community.
The Outcome
The delivery of a Tourism Masterplan that secured multi million Euro investment in Portumna to implement key projects featured within the Masterplan for Portumna.
